Framed LED luminaire
The Gaku lamp by Flos was designed by the Japanese design studio Nendo and is an LED table lamp with battery. Gaku consists of a frame (Japanese: Gaku) in which there is a height-adjustable pendant luminaire or a wireless, removable luminaire.
Flexible and with integrated charging function
The flexible luminaire is supplied with power via the floor of the frame with integrated charging function. The lamp is charged in the frame and can therefore be used flexibly with a running time of up to 48 hours thanks to the rechargeable battery. In addition, the luminaire has a magnet which makes it possible to place the luminaire anywhere on the frame, whether diagonally or upside down.
The frame is made of solid ash wood. The lamps are made of white or black polycarbonate and the diffuser of injection moulded polycarbonate. 2 brightness levels can be set via a key switch dimmer on the mains cable. A plug-in power supply with exchangeable USB port and extension cable is included.
Matching accessories
Unusually and at the same time flexibly designed, the Gaku lamp can be placed between sculpture, living accessory and furniture. She's so eye-catching. Matching accessories such as bowls, vases, trays, mirrors, bookends and more transform Gaku into a room within a room. The accessories can also be placed in, on and on the frame using magnets and redesigned over and over again, similar to a shop window or doll's house.
