Extendable Mid-Century Style Wall Lamp
The Sax Lamp is a classic among wall lamps from Le Klint. Created in 1952 by Erik Hansen, the beloved mid-century design still delights with its classic look and elegant functionality.
Like an accordion, the light can be pulled out or pushed in, depending on where light is needed. The idea came to the Danish designer whilst he was looking for a suitable lamp for the bedroom. He and his wife could simply not find the right reading lamp for the bedside table, so he decided to build one himself.
Materials, Colours and Sizes
Nowadays, different versions of the Sax Lamp are available. The lampshade can be above or under the extendable sconce and the sconce is available in different lengths and types of wood. Moreover, the lamp shade is interchangeable and comes in different shapes and colours.
The Sax Lamp comes in walnut, beech, oak, and in a black or white high lustre lacquering. Since 2011, a combination of the original Hansen lampshade with the Snowdrop lampshade is available, created specifically for Le Kint by Harrit-Sørensen+Samson
