Wall lamp with round shade
The VL Ring Crown wall lamp by Louis Poulsen was already designed in the 1940s by Vilhelm Lauritzen. The classic light convinces with a round shade made of glass and a polished brass frame. The luminaire is part of a whole series designed by Lauritzen for the Danish broadcasting company in Copenhagen. He wanted to create a series of luminaires that would impress with a round glass shade, emit glare-free light and be extremely practical.
Made of mouth-blown glass and polished brass
The shade of the pendant luminaire is made of shiny white, three-layer and mouth-blown opal glass. The suspension consists of untreated, polished brass.
"The lamp shall be easily dustable and the dirt shall not collect on the ground. It must not break at the first scratch and the lamp must be easy to replace. The luminaire should produce glare-free light even without dimming and, depending on requirements, emit a downwardly directed, uniformly rounded light. And she should look beautiful" Vilhelm Lauritzen
The wall lamp, optionally with one or two shades, looks good above the bedside table next to the bed or in darker corners where a floor lamp would not fit. The series also includes a chandelier in various versions and a pendant luminaire.
