The Charcoal Subdivider from the Danish company Dancook is a practical aid for indirect grilling. With the two subdividers you can fix charcoal at the edges of the grill so that a free space is created in its middle.
Dancook’s Charcoal Subdivider consists of two pieces that are hooked into the grill iron where the charcoal is placed. The charcoal is kept at the edges of the grilling area by the subdividers. Tha way a space is created in the middle which is going to be heated indirectly. This free space can be used for indirect grilling, this means that you can simply place meat on the middle part and let it cook.
Indirect grilling is specially recommended for bigger pieces of meat. These should be cooked gently because if they are not, their exterior will get burned before they get cooked from the inside. Another advantage is the reduced smoke production comparing to direct grilling. With the direct grilling method, meat juice, marinades and fat drop into the embers causing a lot of smoke and sometimes also fire. Consequently this does not only lead to unintended burning of meat, but also disturbs guests and neighbours.
The Charcoal Subdivider from Dancook is made of stainless steel.
