In 1954, the Swiss designer Willy Guhl created the first beach chair made of the fibre concrete, which owed the name of the Eternit Company. It was going to become a classic of the 20th century design.
The Loop chair is now a further development of the original design that Guhl designed seven years before he passed away in 2004. The new Loop chair went into production at Eternit in 1999.
Its form remains similar to the original without denying its independent character. The lines of the successor are more distinctive than the ones of the predecessor, the swung, closed body made of eternit does expressively follow the 1954 concept.
Already since the beginning of the 1990s, Eternit's products are completely asbestos-free. This of course also applies to the Loop outdoor chair, which is without a doubt another positive difference to the original.Also in our blog:
