In the year 1954, the Swiss designer Willy Guhl created the first beach chair made out of the fibre concrete, which owed the name of the Eternit Company. It should become a classic of the 20th century design.
The Loop chair is now a further development of the original design from the 2004 deceased Guhl himself, that he developed seven years before he passed by. The new Loop chair went into production by Eternit in the year 1999.
Its form stays near the original without denying its independent character. Namely, the lines of the successor are more distinctive than the one from the predecessor, the swung, closed body made out of eternit does expressively follow the 1954 concept.
Eternits products are completely asbestos-free already since the beginning of the 1990s. This is naturally also the case at the Loop outdoor chair – another doubtlessly positive difference to the original.
