The Urban series by Wildlife World is a collection of contemporary elements which brings back wildlife habitat for wild animals into urban areas. Matching city life, the design is minimalist and functional.
With the Urban Bee Nester you offer bees and other insects a species-appropriate and shapely housing. The selected canes and the holes are the optimum size for solitary bees but other insects may nest and overwinter in the cassette as well.
There is no need to be afraid of bee-stings: in this bee nester a colony of bees won't settle but primarily solitary bees. Solitary bees are non-swarming bees which rarely sting and are safe around families and pets. However, solitary bees are fantastic for flower and garden pollination and have a fascinating life cycle which you can observe by installing this bee nester.
The housing for solitary bees convinces with a modern design and its innovative materials: The outer shell of the Bee Nester is made from Clayplas+ which is a composite material of clay and recycled plastics. This material is very durable and also has great environmental credentials due to the recycled element. The inner cassette of the Bee Nester is made of FSC certified acacia wood and can be removed for cleaning purposes.
Each outer shell has dual keyhole hanging points to allow the Bee Nester to be hung square on or as a diamond to suit. Both the outer and the inner part of the Bee Nester has small holes which make sure that potential water can run off.
Next to the Bee Nester, the Urban series by Wildlife World also offers an Insect Hotel, a Bird Feeder as well as a Bird Nestbox. All elements have the same reduced design in common which creates a homogenous overall picture when all are hung up together.
Additionally and on request, there is a base plate available. This can be assembled like a socket between wall and the single elements whereby a further contrast is aesthetically created. Also in our blog:
