Glass Bottle with Activated Carbon
The Eau Good by Black + Blum in the glass version is even more environmentally-friendly and sustainable. Manufactured from glass, the Binchotan activated carbon adds good minerals to tap water.
Mouth-Blown Glass, Natural Cork and Stainless Steel
The Eau Good glass bottle is made from mouth-blown crystal glass. The lid consists of natural cork and BPA free silicone. A coil made from premium stainless steel 304 (18/8) keeps the Binchotan carbon in place inside of the bottle. The shatter-proof glass bottle with a capacity of 650 ml is suitable for your next trip, while traveling in the car or to take to work. A neoprene sleeve is included and provides additional protection and insulation.
Japanese Binchotan Active Carbon
The Binchotan active carbon has been used in Japan since the 17th century. The carbon balances out the pH, reduces chlorine and enriches the tap water with important minerals. To produce the coal, sustainably mined wood is slowly charred at low temperature. Towards the end of the process, the furnace temperature is raised to about 1000°C until the coal glows red. The rapid increase in temperature, followed by rapid cooling, burns the bark leaving a smooth, hard surface. Then the coal is covered with a powder mixture of earth, sand and ash.
Material and Care Instructions
A Binchotan carbon lasts about 6 months when used daily. After that, it should be replaced by a new piece of carbon. The bottle should be used only for tap water or still water, not juice, fruit tea, or similar. The glass bottle and the stainless steel spiral are dishwasher-proof. The silicone seal on the cork can be removed and is also suitable for the dishwasher. The cork is not dishwasher safe. The carbon should be removed before cleaning. To prevent mould growth, remaining water should be poured out after use of the bottle.
