The idea for the carafe originated from the Bavarian AUERBERG philosophy to work together with regional manufactures. At the beginning were the paper models which I then implemented together with the glass-specialised school Zwiesel.
The extraordinary aspect of this carafe is that it should also function without handle. Therefore, Schultes has shaped the neck so narrowly that somebody with smaller hands will also have no problems to grasp it well and to handle it. Here, again, functionality as the propelling force for a new image. His three glasses are derived from the carafe, in terms of shape – but without handle.
The glass series from Auerberg consists of crystal glass, that is mouth-blown into beechwood moulds. The whole collection is based on one idea that runs like a common thread through all products of the collection. Part of this collection are a water glass, water carafe, wine glass, wine carafe and a whiskey glass.
