Scholten & Baijings designed a service that mirrors tradition in modern times for Georg Jensen. The “Tea with Georg” teacup with saucer was inspired by Japanese tea culture.
The name of the Tea with Georg teacup with saucer is a tribute to the silver smith Georg Jensen, whose name is still a synonym for table culture today. Scholten & Baijings designed a collection of dishes for tea and coffee based on traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, adding some modern elements. That’s how the series of Georg Jensen offers a modern touch to traditional, ancient rituals.
The Tea with Georg teacup with saucer by Georg Jensen is made of porcelain. A small but fine detail: the handles of the teacup don’t have a hole.
Besides the teacup with saucer, the Tea with Georg collection also includes a teapot, a teapot warmer, an étagère, a sugar bowl and a milk jug.
