"Form follows function" is the design guideline for designers and architects. With the principle in the back of the head the Finish designer Kaj Franck created the dish collection in 1952.
Entitled by the manufacturer Iittala itself as "meaningful simplicity", Teema surrenders on any ornaments and decorations and is only reduced on the necessary. Circle, square, and rectangle are the basic forms, which Kaj Franck found so irresistible, that Teema became to a theme.
One of the most famous services of Scandinavia
Plain elegance and versatility make up the dish collection and make it to one of the most famous services in Scandinavia. Teema is freezing-proof, oven-proof and can be put in microwaves and dish washers. It can be combined with other dishes, through which an endless row of innovative and colourful tables can be build up.
With Teema you will not get the "Squaring of the circle", but the undisputed classic, whose geometric shape can be seen in many design museums of the world.
