"Form follows function" is the design guideline for designers and architectes. With this principle in mind the Finish designer Kaj Franck created the tableware collection Teema in 1952.
Entitled by the manufacturer Iittala itself as "meaningful simplicity", Teema surrenders on any ornaments and decorations and is reduced to the essential only. Circle, square, and rectangle are the basic forms, which Kaj Franck found so irresistible, that they became the theme of Teema.
One of the most popular set of tableware of Scandinavia
Plain elegance and versatility make up the dish collection and make it to one of the most famous set of tableware in Scandinavia. Teema is safe to go into oven or freezer and can be put in microwaves and dishwashers. It can be combined with other dishes, through which an endless row of innovative and colourful tables is possible.
With Teema you will however not get the "Squaring the circle", but the undisputable classic, whose geometric shape can be seen in many design museums of the world.
