Harri Koskinen

Harri Koskinen

Furniture and design objects by the 1970 in Karstula born Koskinen are interesting for the international market, over the borders of Finland, since a long time. The “friend of industry” – as he likes to call himself – looks for solutions that suit the manufacturer as well as the end user at the same time.

With his approach of non-requiring functionality, his delighting-sculptural design got a fix place at companies such as Arabia, Iittala or Danese Milano.

Harri Koskinen probably had his international breakthrough with the “Block Lamp” in 1996, which he designed for Design House Stockholm. Awards followed on mass. Harri Koskinen received the desired “Young Designer of the Year” in his hometown in Finland in 2000. Since then he was honoured with more design awards (among others with the Red Dot Design Award 2001, the iF Design Award 2002, Design Plus 2002).
