Ichiro Iwasaki

The 1965 born designer Ichiro Iwasaki started his career in the Sony Design Center. After he made himself a name there between 1986 to 1991, he moved from Japan to Italy.

Here Iwasaky worked in Milan with different companies, before he returned to his hometown in Tokyo in 1995 in order to found his own design studio. The Iwasaki Design Studio designs numerous products without focussing on one determinate specialization since then: From household goods over furniture up to electric devices Ichiro Iwasaki designed the most different products.

The Japanese has already been honoured with numerous national and international design awards for his work. Among them are the iF Design Award, the red dot Award and the design award of the Federal Republic Germany. Besides his main work as product designer, Iwasaki also works at numerous Japanese Universities as well as jury member of the Good Design Award.
