The glass painter and designer Max Irngrand was born in the French Bressuire in 1908 and he passed by in Paris in 1969. He worked as Art Director for FontanaArte for ten years starting in 1954.
Ingrand achieved in designing classic pieces in those years, such as the table lamp Fontana. This one is still one of the best-sellers of FontanaArte.
After his apprenticeship at the University of Applied Sciences in Paris Max Ingrand specialized in decorative arts. His teachers were artists like Jacques Grüber and Charles Lemaresquier. Max Ingrand was honoured with the order of merit of the Legion of Honour for his work in France.
