Niels Kjeldsen was designer at Denmark’s leading design offices. He made an apprenticeship as smith and later studied product design at the design school in Denmark. During his employment he got the “Danks Design Pris” for having furnished the Museum Natur Bornholm in Aakirkeby.
Niels Kjeldsen has his own drawing office since 2002. His technical and handicraft training as well as his creative background are advantages for his daily work, achieving in the best possible results, melting design and functionality to a unity.
Nils Kjeldsen works with products for homes, such as kitchen accessories, furniture and other home accessories and he already developed many products that have been produced by Danish and international companies. Functionality of products is focused in the designer’s work - the functionality guides the form. He is especially interested in the recyclability of the products he develops in order to protect the environment.
He works in the most different areas as a designer for the most different companies, such as Bang & Olufsen, Vipp and Børma up to Kompan, OBH, Mayland and Carlsberg. Niels Kjeldsen also won the desired Red Dot Design Prize besides further international awards.
