The multiple awarded German industrial designer Reinhard Dienes teaches industrial design at the Academy of Arts and Design in Offenbach am Main since 2008, despite of having graduated in the same year in that subject. Before that he already studied at the University de los Andes in Bogota, Columbia and worked as a freelance for Bauma, BMW and Brita GmbH, among others.
His works are generally inspired by three principles: function, materials and small details of everyday objects.
Form and structure are exemplarily inspired by PET bottles in the Wyzer-wall clock which he designed for Leff Amsterdam.
It has only been possible to make weightless, resistant and very thin pointers with the unique qualities of that synthetic material.
