After her studies to become an architect, Samira Boon loved in Japan for four years, where her design career began. Her first success came with masks printed with animal faces, in 2002. In Japan, masks protect people against the smog and Boon’s animal faces therefore were soon very successful.

Back in the Netherlands, Samira Boon focussed on three-dimension textile. The technologically advantageous textile products were the basic stones for a bigger collection. Boon works in Seoul at the moment, working with South Korean designers and companies for many projects, among them is the exposition about folding techniques.

Designs by Samira Boon were already exposed in New York, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Seoul. Besides her work as designer, Boon also works as organizer of workshops and as design teacher.
