The young design studio Samuji is in the historic Vallila district in Helsinki. Timeless designs for the most different purposes emerge here.
The ancient creative director of Marimekko, Samu Jussi Koski, founded his studio Samuji in 2011. Together with the designer Hennamari Asunta, the Finish born creates timeless design by means of combining different styles. The result isn’t suitable in a determinate category and just therefore universal. The focus of attention of Smuji is clearly fashion design. The design comes from Finland and the designers value local production – but the fashion creations of the Finnish are distributed all over the world, from New York over Moscow up to Tokyo.
Besides fashion collections, Samuji also works with product design: Despite of the fact that it isn’t the main working field of the studio, there are some names like Artek, Iittala or the city Helsinki as customers.
