Sascha Akkermann, born in Oldenburg in 1974, is a master carpenter as well as a freelance designer with his focus set on furniture and interior design.
From the year 2004 until 2012, Akkermann worked with the interior designer Flo Florian under the label Confused Direction. The two designers developed concepts for furniture which were exceptional in many ways. Today, even though Akkermann works on his own, the German designer creates just as extraordinary objects as before.
Independent wooden shapes
Undoubtedly, while designing and building his own houseboat, Sascha Akkermann benefitted from his experiences as carpenter. With this project, Akkermann presents how to connect the romantic idea of a houseboat with a modern and independant design.
And also in terms of product design, Sascha Akkermann follows his own path: of course, he works a lot with wood. The natural material is brought into exceptional shapes - the kind that noone usally expects from furniture made of natural material. By this means, Sascha Akkermanns' products are unmistakable and highly original.
