Shaun Fynn was born in the English Chester. His graduation he made at the Central St. Martins School of Art in London. He was embossed by his consequent work in London, Milan and later in Los Angeles. In this time he improved his global perspective on design, by working for famous customers in Europe, Japan and the USA, among them companies such as Sharp, Compaq and Pioneer.
Shaun Fynn founded his own design office in Los Angeles in 1997. He fast reached a good position with his interdisciplinary works for different companies such as Driade, Nokia, Motorola, Nike and Siemens.
Besides the work as designer, Fynn was also occupied with photography and ethnography as one of his tools to observe and research social states and other cultures. Among others he researched in India, where he investigated the communication practices and needs for Nokia. Furthermore he travels as teacher of arts and design schools in Mumbai, Los Angeles and Milan.
Shaun Fynn’s design philosophy places the research and observation in the start. The finished product should reflect and work-out the values and rhythms of the different cultures. The success is his approval: Shaun Fynn’s works are displayed in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, in the Chicago Athenaeum and in diverse Design Yearbooks and other magazines.
