”Don’t design what is necessary and functional. And if it comes to this case, then do not doubt to make it beautiful.” This cite of the ancient Shaker-community expresses exactly what Extremis does. Extremis doesn’t try to bring pretty furniture to the market. Extremis manufactures “devices” that improve life. These tools have to be functional always. And more than anything: always better than what was there before. Therefore no design comes by chance.
Extremis has the mission of connecting intelligent design based on healthy Flemish people’s mind with our Burgundy lifestyle. The medium? A complete assortment of exceptional furniture with special functions and timeless design. Making you enjoy life together. The main phrase “Tools for togetherness” (or Tu’g vo thope te zi’n, to express it in the local dialect) is also another one that didn’t appear by chance.
The first mind-child of Extremis-founder Dirk Wynants was the multifunctional garden-table Gargantua, a design classic meanwhile. In less than five years, Extremis made its name on the international design market. This was ensured by the Extempore-series: a path-maker for the later often used combination of wood and aluminium.
Also if outdoor furniture are the nest where Extremis moves exceptionally well, different designs such as Picnic and Kosmos did fast make their way t the inside. From the beginning, Extremis focused on export. The company makes 78% of revenue with it today. Extremis is especially desired in the neighbour countries, but also in the USA and the Middle East the success followed fast.
