Tradition meets modernity: ferm Living proves that ancient idols are wonderfully suitable as source of inspiration today.
A Kelim is a woven carpet, which ornaments walls and floors of Near East since many thousands of years. ferm Living was inspired by that tradition, in a double way: The rugs of ferm Living are woven like their idols. And something typical for a Kelim is also typical for ferm Living: the inspiring geometrical patterns.
The Kelim rugs of ferm Living are made by hand, which is the reason why each one of them is unique. The weaving technique is called “Punja” and it is one of the most ancient weaving techniques of the world. The weaving varies according to the person weaving it. Slight colour variations are also possible, since the woollen yarn is also coloured by hand. The used wool is Woolmark certified.
