Alfredo by Georg Jensen gets Formland Design Award

In the opening of the Formland Autumn 2011, Georg Jensen won the Formland Designpreis. The Danish company was honored for the Alfredo-collection with different objects for the kitchen and the dining table in it, designed by the designer Alfredo Häberli. The award was given by the Netherlands designer Piet Hein Eek.

”This is a convincing winner of the Formland Design Award. Alfredo Häberli reached to catch Scandinavian design style and offer new impulses to it at the same time. The Georg Jensen Company is especially famous for the usage of steel, which was fulfilled by new materials such as porcelain, glass, wood and rubber in the Alfredo collection. The single parts of the collection were kept together by shaping, the function is convincing and regarding the prize, this design is affordable”, said the Award jury.

The Alfredo collection which entered the market in Spring 2011 consists of salt and pepper grinders, kitchen roll holders, carafes, jugs and salad bowls and was named after their creator Alfredo Häberli. It is going to be fulfilled by an oil and vinegar set, an oak wood holder for salt and pepper or oil and vinegar, as well as with a storage glasses out of glass, oak and stainless steel in Autumn of 2011.

The winners as well as the nominated products are going to be exposed on the Formland Autumn 2011 in the MCH fair center Hamburg until the 21st of August. The fair is open daily from 9.00 to 18.00 o’clock. Find more information about the design fair Formland 2011 on the fair’s homepage.
