As since 1997, the trend-setting magazine Architektur & Wohnen (architecture & living) selected the designers of the year 2013, a desired title, on this year’s imm cologne to two exceptional designers: Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.

Usually there is only one designer of the year. But since the Breton brothers Erwan & Ronan Bouroullec are hard to separate, and also their design is influenced by the unity they mean, the A&W magazine decided to name them both. Their “hour-hands design” and the non-verbal communication they have by means of drawings are impressive as well as deciding for their success.

They presented two huge expositions in 2012: “Album” in the Vitra Design Museum as well as “Bivouac”, a single exposition in the Centre Pompidou Met, which was also exposed in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago until the mids of January 2013. Moreover a monography emerged by the Phaidon editorial in 2012.
