"Lamp of the Year 2011": Aplomb from Foscarini

Aplomb from Foscarini was voted „Lamp oft he Year 2011“ (German page). Foscarini participated at this competition that took place for the eighth time, for the first time. Private visitors of the websites On-Light.de and HighLIGHT.de as well as traders voted for the lamp. The pendant lamp Aplomb from the designers Lucidi & Pevere convinced the public of the competition with the original usage of concrete for a formal and simultaneously decorative design.

The competition text about the Aplomb Pendant Lamp says: ”With the pendant lamp Aplomb, an exceptionally wide spectrum of usage possibilities appeared. The elegant lamp transforms every surrounding, from large architectural constructions to private furnishings with its simple appearance., it inspires with a material than instantly reminds of the building industry.”

A total of 12 lamps could be selected from the internet audience at the competition of the “Lamp of the Year 2011”. Foscarini is delighted about the first prize. The award was accepted by the co-founder and president Carlo Urbinati himself in the Imperial Court from Ansberg. The second prize went to the Oligo company with the segment lamp Trinity. The Ledy pendant lamp from Steng Licht that has another reason for celebrations besides its 100th anniversary, became the third one.
