On the Milan furniture fair from the 12th to the 17th of April}Vitra presents its novelties for the year 2011. The results out of the cooperation from the Swiss company with design-stars like Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, Antonio Citterio, Konstantin Grcic, Alfredo Häberli, Jasper Morrison and Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec are going to be exposed.

Tip Top Stuhl von Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby für VitraEdward Barber & Jay Osgerby have designed two novelties for Vitra as a total: Tip Ton and the Map Table. Tip Top is a solid plastic chair that can be inclined forwards. The name indicates the double meaning of the seating experience – out of the normal position Tip Ton is inclinable forwards, where the chair will stop after a few degrees. The innovation behind this apparently simple action consists of the nine degree rising floor runners of the front. The front-inclined seating position sets pelvis and back upright improving the circulation of the abdomen and back muscles.

Grand Repos und Panchina von Antonio Citterio für VitraAntonio Citterio designed Grand Repos and Panchina, as well as the Suita Armchair for Vitra. Grand Repos is a comfortable lounge chair that can be brought into different seating positions and fixed there. Panchina is an upholstered bench that can desirably be a single seating object or also an ottoman to the Grand Repos. The Suita Armchair is a fulfil to the eponymous sofa from Vitra and Antonio Citterio.

Further News for the current year are the Waver Armchair from Konstantin Gricic, the Jill Chair from Alfredo Häberli and the wooden Deco-Bird L’Oiseau from Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.
