The Italian company Lamm has existed since 1959. Since then Lamm has been and still is part of important developments for Italian design and the brand “Made in Italy”. Lamm focuses on the research and development of new and innovative materials. Important building blocks of the company’s philosophy also include safety, quality and ecological awareness.
In the 60s, Lamm produced mainly furniture for schools, hospitals and ships. Cooperation with numerous international companies followed in the 70s. Then, in the 80s, the company specialised in seating systems for offices and common areas and has continuously expanded its fields of activity since then. Armchairs for conference rooms were followed with seating for cinemas and theatres.
In 2011 Lamm, together with the Italian design giant Alessi, developed the concept for the Alessichair. Today, Lamm produces the folding chair Piana, which Alessi developed together with David Chipperfield.
