According to his own account, he spent time in that room to escape the sweltering heat and wait until the dreaded Scirocco wind had finally subsided.
It was & “a room without windows, where one does nothing but think of the wind that’s out there, whirling the things of the world about &,” the designer recalls. From this memory emerged “ La Stanza dello Scirocco ,” a series of objects whose shape is reminiscent of small pieces of paper swirling about in the wind.
Mario Trimarchi describes “ & ” La Stanza dello Scirocco & as & “a collection of asymmetrical objects with arrhythmic geometric shapes, consisting of small plates of varying sizes that are connected only at individual points in a seemingly fragile construction. & ”
