Today, this piece is a classic, known worldwide for its timelessness and high recognition value. \u003cbr \/\u003e\r\nThe bar stool 64 is a taller version of the Stool 60, and both variants feature Aalto’s signature organic L-shape. The bar stool is made of bent, lacquered birch wood. Upon request, the seat is available covered in laminate or linoleum, as well as in an upholstered version with fabric or leather upholstery.\r\n\u003ch3\u003eBar stool with footrest\u003c\/h3\u003e\r\nThen as now, the bending technique used to create it is impressive: a straight piece of solid birch wood is cut along the grain to form a sort of fan. Small, thinly planed wooden strips are then glued to the wood, allowing it to be bent and shaped using steam and heat.
