The Cu-Clock uniquely combines Japanese minimalism with Italian design and German tradition.\r\nA minimalist cuckoo clock is, by definition, a contradiction in terms, as the original clocks from the Black Forest have become famous far beyond Germany’s borders primarily for their rich embellishments and ornamentation. Fukasawa reduces his reinterpretation of the cuckoo clock to a minimum, so that only the sloping roof and the cuckoo are reminiscent of the Black Forest original. The pendulum and chain mechanism have been omitted, as have the elaborately carved wooden ornaments.\r\nThe battery-powered Cu-Clock is made entirely of ABS plastic and is manufactured using standard injection molding.
