Suck UK expertly produces furniture pieces, lamps, decoration elements and accessories with a unique and peculiar design. The young company’s simple but original and humorous designs thereby set it apart from its competition.

The history of Suck UK started with the work of its founders Sam and Jude for other companies. The brand Suck UK itself was founded in 1999. The designers initially designed products that they liked themselves, out of common or uncommon materials, shining brightly in purist shapes that are intended to attract attention. Moreover, it was important to find a cheap method of production, which is why the designers experimented extensively with different materials and production techniques.

Without any support from outside, the Suck UK team worked on their designs at night and their regular jobs during the day in order to pay the bills. This path was hard work, but also proved very instructive. The little money they had made allowed the designers to see their environment with new eyes and they started utilising whatever they could make use of.

Soon they noticed that their own home and especially their kitchen was not suited as workshop. Thus they moved into an empty room in an occupied building in Primrose Hill, which would serve as workshop and the nearby telephone box as an office. The first serious prototypes of Suck UK emerged during that time. The emerging products suited London’s galleries and clubs. However, the designers wanted to conquer the people and their homes.

Vacating the occupied building was a small setback, but the Suck UK team decided now to quit their regular jobs and to concentrate on design and their own brand. Nowadays, Suck UK is based in the London East End. The products consist of different materials and are very different from each other.
