Zieta is a Polish company that was founded by Oskar Zieta in 2007. The goal of the company is to develop innovative design with smarter technologies for the future.
The company’s founder Oskar Zieta studied architecture in Stettin and afterwards began his further studies at the ETH Zurich, where he has been working as a teaching assistant at the chair for CAAD (Computer Aided Architectural Design) since 2003. Already during his studies he focused on sheet metal working and developed the so-called “FIDU technology.”
FIDU (Freie Innen-Druck Umformung) stands for “Free Internal Pressure Forming.” By inflating two steel sheets that are welded around their edges, a 3D object is created. Due to the innovative manufacturing process, each object is unique, since not every deformation of the sheet metal can be controlled. FIDU is thus an efficient process of mass production that allows production of innovative, customer-oriented, bionic shapes and completely recyclable objects.
Beside the unique shaping, another advantage of the objects are their light weight and the proportionately high resilience. Besides its most famous product, the Plopp stool that was awarded the Red Dot design award in 2008, numerous other objects are part of the standard collection of Zieta. Moreover, Zieta also features the collections Zieta Beta and Zieta Limited that showcase original products in experimental and prototype phases, or limited editions of high-quality materials such as brass or copper.
