Typical furnishings for the bathroom are bathtub, shower, washbasin, toilet and occasionally a bidet. Moreover, other things are needed in the bathroom for everyday life – from mirrors, cupboards and storage space to towel holders and a toilet brush – there are many things that should be used to daily wear.
Since the bathroom is one of the most moist rooms in the house, you should take special care when selecting materials to use or note the safety requirements for electrical products. Untreated woods, for example, aren’t suitable for humid rooms, since the natural material would change their shape and rot without appropriate treatments. For electrical devices in the immediate vicinity of the shower or bathtub, e.g. a light directly above an open shower cabin, the appropriate forms of protection (e.g. IP 44) should be observed.
