The Eames Plywood Mobile models by Vitra are replicas of the original mobiles designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1941. The Plywood Mobiles each consist of two abstract-organic plywood elements that playfully rotate in and around each other.
The mobiles were created in the early 1940s during a series of experiments with plywood. At that time, Charles and Ray Eames wanted to advance the technology of laminated wood forming. The two found the accidentally created mobiles so beautiful that they hung the models in their apartment in Los Angeles.
