Danish furniture classics
In the early 1940s, FDB hired a number of young, bold furniture architects and designers to develop beautiful, functional furniture at affordable prices. The founding of FDB Møbler proved that high-quality furniture was not reserved for the wealthiest in society. FDB Møbler was meant to set the scene for good times together, centred on close family values and a democratic community.
The company was at its peak from the 1950s to the 1970s, but closed its factory in 1980. In 2013, the retailer Coop Danmark A/S brought several old classics back onto the market and relaunched FDB Møbler. Alongside well-known, popular furniture designed by Børge Mogensen and Poul M. Volther, among others, the brand also offers new designs that bring together the values of past and present.
Vision: sustainability
FDB Møbler has set itself the goal of becoming Denmark's most responsible furniture company and is prepared to push its own boundaries to achieve this. All its textiles are OEKO-TEX® certified. FDB Møbler's next goal was to certify all its products by 2025 with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the most demanding environmental certification on the Scandinavian market.
