The J110 is part of the re-edition of Danish furniture classics by Hay. The chair, which has already been designed in the middle of the past century by Poul M. Volther, embodies pure Danish design: Made out of wood, the J110 chair offers aesthetic design in combination with exceptional functionality. Simple, natural inspired forms introduce a breeze of Scandinavian elegance into our homes.
The J110 Chair was initially designed in order to democratize good and functional design: leaned on the typical Windsor chairs of the 18th century, the J110 interpreted the slim wooden tubes and the high backrests in one timeless design. The slim form of the tubes and the material’s structure offer a stable and also weightless appearance to the dining chair. This is the reason why the J110 – originally produced by FDB – was soon successful.
Hay produces the J110 Chair out of beech wood. The J110 is perfectly suitable for the dining table with its seat height of 44.5 cm, while its high backrest acts as if it was part of an armchair: The wide seat and the high backrest offer unusual comfort for a dining chair to the J110.
