The J110 is part of the re-edition of Danish furniture classics by Hay. The chair, having already been designed in the middle of the last century by Poul M. Volther, embodies pure Danish design: Made out of wood, it offers an aesthetic design combined with exceptional functionality. Simple, with nature-inspired forms, the J110 introduces a breeze of Scandinavian elegance into our homes.
The J110 Chair was initially designed in order to democratise good and functional design. Based on the the traditional Windsor chairs of the 18th century, the J110 re-interprets a timeless design with slender wooden bars and a high backrest. The slim shape of the bars and the structure's material make the dining chair look light and stable at the same time. For these reasons, the J110, which was then produced by FDB, quickly became a success.
Hay produces the J110 Chair out of beech wood. The J110 is ideal for the dining table with its seat height of 44.5 cm, while its high backrest acts as if it was part of an armchair: The wide seat and the high backrest offer exceptionally high comfort for a dining chair.
