Recyclable chair made of powder-coated steel
The idea for Hee was born from the desire to design an environmentally friendly chair whose materials would be easy to recycle. By making a chair from a single material, it avoids polluting transport routes between different production sites and also simplifies the recycling process.
The basic idea was to take an archetypal chair as a model and to perfect it in every single detail, to raise the design to a class, to simplify the structure at the same time and to improve functionality. The aim was to create a clear, simple chair that would fit in many places - modern, but not so time-specific that it could not be used for a long time.
There's nothing superfluous about this chair, nothing mere decoration. No part could be removed without losing its function. The chair looks playful from the outside, but the design in no way impairs its function. Disposable mentality and environmental awareness do not fit together.
Finding the right balance was also crucial in the design - in order to combine functionality and aesthetics at a high level, exactly the right wire thickness had to be chosen. The chair is made of 11 mm thick steel and its shape is reminiscent of a sketch of a three-dimensional pencil drawing.
Hee is available as a club chair, dining table chair or bar chair. He can be seen in the new Oslo Opera House and in the Australian Parliament. The stackable chairs are galvanized and powder-coated. They can withstand any weather and are therefore ideal for outdoor seating.
