Solid Granite Bowl
In 1963, Danish architect and designer Poul Kjærholm furnished the town hall of the city of Fredericia. The trained furniture maker also designed the furnishings himself. As a special piece of jewellery, the Dane designed a 30 x 60 x 60 cm ashtray made of marble, which, with its 250 kg weight, surpassed everything that had existed up to then in the field of smoking equipment.
Today, the large version of the PK-Bowl is only produced by ArchitectMade on request, but due to the great popularity of his giant ashtray, Poul Kjærholm still produced a smaller version for domestic use in 1963: The more robust material makes the PK-Bowl granite bowl more durable than its large model, and the smaller version is certainly easier to handle.
Of course, the ArchitectMade PK-Bowl granite bowl can not only be used as an ashtray, but also as a bowl for all kinds of other small things. With its Danish design from 1963, it is an eye-catcher of classic format and thus a timeless and durable piece of design that can be passed down through generations.
