One seat pad, many advantages
Seat pads give any chair a visual lift. The soft cushions form a pleasant contrast to the hard materials of the chairs. A seat pad also makes the chair considerably more comfortable and protects it. Rivets on trousers or skirts can easily leave unsightly pale scratches on the seat. Seat pads save you a lot of trouble here. And if you redecorate, you can easily adapt your chairs to the new look with seat pads in a different colour.
What to consider when buying a seat pad
Seat pads are home accessories, so alongside functionality, your personal taste is naturally the deciding factor. Even so, you should check how the seat pad needs to be cared for. Cotton can usually be machine washed, whereas you should avoid putting felt seat pads in the washing machine. It would damage the material too much and pull the pads out of shape. Just like chairs, seat cushions come in many shapes: round, oval or square – anything is possible.
Hey Sign: seat pads for design classics
Hey Sign offers a wide range of seat pads for the Vitra Eames Armchair and the Vitra Eames Plastic Chair. The pads, all "made in Germany", are made from high-quality felt. Felt is versatile and also a "renewable" raw material with outstanding properties. The pads act as cushioning and further increase the seating comfort of the already ergonomic, organically shaped seat shell of the Eames chairs. They are available in muted colours such as anthracite as well as brighter options such as mango. If required, the pads are available with a non-slip coating on the underside.
