Volkshaus furniture made from solid wood
The Volkshaus collection designed by Herzog & de Meuron combines craftsmanship with sculptural appeal. The lounge chair, stool and side table are made of solid oak and are characterized by a striking cross joint where square timbers intersect in an X shape. The asymmetrical frames look different from every angle and are inspired by traditional Japanese wooden joints.
Originally designed for the boutique hotel in the Volkshaus Basel, the series can be used in a variety of settings - from private living spaces to public lobbies.
