Italian painter and designer Aldo Ciabatti was born in 1939 in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy.
Ciabatti began working in design in the 1960s. What has always inspired him is the "complexity of simplicity": for Ciabatti, the unity of form, colour and material is the most important factor.
Ciabatti is convinced that this is the only way to design products that meet his four criteria of good design: beauty, usefulness, character and the possibility of industrial production. To achieve this, he works with the methods of an artist rather than limiting himself to rational criteria.
Today, Aldo Ciabatti's artworks, designs and installations can be found around the globe, and numerous design awards bear witness to the Italian artist's life's work.
