Barba Corsini was born in 1916 in the Spanish city of Tarragona and died in Barcelona in 2008. Corsini's father was an architect, so it was a natural step for the young Corsini to begin studying architecture in Barcelona in 1932.
The Spanish Civil War interrupted his studies. From 1937 to 1939, Corsini served as an officer in the engineers. He received his diploma in 1943 and immediately threw himself into managing major building projects. In 1945, with plenty of experience under his belt, he opened his own office and set about designing buildings and matching furniture with an enterprising spirit.
He found the inspiration for his designs in the black floors and bare ceilings of the Hollywood film industry, which he recreated in his lighting and furniture collections.
