Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen is a design studio in Copenhagen in Denmark specialising in furniture and product design. Its guiding idea is to create lasting value that supports the healthy development of people and their environment.
Founders Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen name "knowledge and innovation" as the core resources of their work. Since the 1970s, the studio has won numerous major design awards, and the Danish designers' work has even made it into the Museum of Modern Art in New York in the USA.
Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen take a holistic approach. When designing, they always consider the specific production process that will be used. Unlike many other designers, they develop their products at a 1:1 scale – the size they will eventually have. As a result, they don't run the risk of losing their sense of proportion in a world of digitally created designs.
