Leon Ransmeier was born in New York, USA, in 1979. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2001 and, in 2004, founded his own studio, Ransmeier Inc., in New York.
Ransmeier believes that design begins with the will to change something. A designer with strong craft skills, he works on prototypes himself, because feeling, seeing and testing are an integral part of his creative process. Ransmeier prefers to focus on a few projects rather than produce many unfinished designs. With great attention to detail, he works on solving the small problems first in order to create a perfect whole in the end.
Over the course of his career, Ransmeier has worked with companies such as Droog, Established & Sons and Herman Miller.
