Designer. Inventor. Designventor
Trained cabinetmaker and furniture designer Michael Hilgers sees himself as a "designventor":
In the designs he develops for well-known manufacturers, he always combines inventiveness with minimalist design.
Hilgers' innovative yet strikingly simple furniture solutions, such as the ultra-slim "flatmate" secretary desk and the compact "balKonzept" balcony workstation, exemplify his philosophy of questioning traditional product categories and rethinking them pragmatically for the way we live and work today.
Developed in his studio in Berlin in Germany, his (multi)functional, flexible, space-saving furniture has won several awards, including the Interior Innovation Award, and has been shown in various museums.
