Timeless design by Mogens Koch

Mogens Koch was a Danish architect who lived from 1898 to 1992. He studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in Denmark until 1925, and later taught there as a lecturer from 1940 and as professor of architecture from 1950 to 1968. In between, he worked at Kaare Klint's architecture office, among others.

Mogens Koch was known for his timeless design and made a name for himself not only in architecture but also in lighting, textiles and typography. Designs such as his MK99200 folding chair for Carl Hansen meet the demands of comfort, function and aesthetics. He also always had a feel for minimalism, in both his architectural projects and his product designs. His work earned him various honours, including the Eckersberg Medal in 1938 and the C. F. Hansen Medal in 1963.
