Nendo is a Japanese design studio that works internationally and across disciplines. The mind behind the award-winning studio is Oki Sato.

Oki Sato was born in Toronto, Canada, but moved to Tokyo in Japan to study architecture. In 2002, he founded Nendo in the Japanese capital.

After major successes in its first few years, Nendo opened a branch in Milan in Italy in 2005. Today, the international studio employs more than 30 people and works in graphic design, product design, installations, interior design and architecture. Nendo's clients are just as diverse as its fields of work: from Armani, Discipline and Kartell to Villeroy & Boch.

Nendo: a small "!" for every day

According to the studio, Nendo's aim is to give people a small "!" moment every day. That's why Nendo works to rethink everyday objects and give them that special "!".

Nendo's many works have received numerous awards, including the iF Award, the Red Dot Award and the Compasso d'Oro. Today, Nendo's designs can be found in museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York in the USA and the Centre Pompidou in Paris in France.
