NOMAD – distinctive rugs made from recycled materials
NOMAD is a German design brand for distinctive rugs. The label was founded in 2020 by product and interior designer Jutta Werner and combines independent design with a conscious approach to materials and traditional production techniques.
Rugs with personality
NOMAD focuses on rugs that are not just functional home accessories but design objects in their own right. Expressive colours, unusual combinations of materials and striking surfaces give the designs an individual character and a strong presence in the room.
Recycling as part of the design
An important part of the design is the use of recycled materials. The Candy Wrapper Rug, for example, combines recycled packaging film with new wool. Other collections use textile production offcuts, sari fabrics or recycled bicycle tyres, among other things. The material is not hidden but deliberately made a visible part of the design.
Handmade in India
NOMAD rugs are made in close collaboration with experienced weavers in India. Traditional craft techniques meet contemporary designs and experimental material concepts. The long-standing collaboration with the producers is an essential part of the brand's philosophy.
Between aesthetics and responsibility
NOMAD combines high-quality interior design with the aim of using resources more consciously and creating durable products. The result is rugs with a story of their own, combining traditional craftsmanship, innovative materials and expressive design.
