Handmade mobiles from Denmark
Mobiles have a long tradition in Denmark, but the modern mobile was created in 1954 by Christian Flensted and his wife Grethe. Their first design, the Stork mobile, was a great success and can now be found all over the world.
Since then, Christian Flensted has been known in his home country as an "uromager" – a word that is hard to translate and describes someone who designs things that are mischievous and always in motion.

Today, his son Ole and Ole's wife Aase carry on the tradition. With a constant flow of ideas for original mobiles, they regularly present new designs from their "Department of Space Research".
Flensted Mobiles are designed so that the elements are constantly moving while the mobile as a whole stays in harmonious balance. Each mobile is carefully assembled and balanced by skilled hands. The mobiles are packed ready to hang, so you can put them up straight away.
