The Danish furniture designer Gistav Ehrenreich founded the Hoptimist company in 1968. The first produced designs were the swinging Birdies, followed by Bimble, Bumble and Kvak. The playful names already reveal what the Hoptimists do the best: they spread good mood. And this is also how they became a worldwide success in the 1970ies.
Meanwhile nearby forgotten, the Hoptimists-family has been re-discovered by the Danish designer Lotte Steffensen. She woke the classic figures and expanded the whole assortment by special editions – in order to delight following generations with the happy figures.
